AvLights Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of AvLights, a Roku screensaver channel that displays aviation weather information on FAA sectional charts. By installing or using AvLights, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall the channel.
Not for navigation or flight planning
AvLights is for general situational awareness and entertainment only. It is not an aviation navigation, flight-planning, or weather-briefing tool, and must not be used as one. The charts shown are decorative renderings and may be out of date relative to the current 56-day FAA chart cycle. Weather shown may be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable. Nothing displayed by AvLights is a substitute for an official preflight weather briefing, current aeronautical charts, NOTAMs, or the judgement of a pilot in command. Always consult official FAA and National Weather Service sources before any flight.
1. Licence to Use
AvLights is licensed, not sold. Purchasing it grants you a personal, non-commercial licence to install and use it on Roku devices you own or control, under the terms of your Roku account. You may not sell, sublicense, or redistribute the channel, or charge others for access to it.
2. Purchase, Billing and Refunds
AvLights is a one-time purchase made through the Roku Streaming Store at the time of installation. There is no subscription, no recurring charge, no in-app purchase and no advertising.
All payment is handled by Roku, not by us. We never see or store your payment details. Billing, receipts and refunds are governed by your Roku account and Roku's own terms; refund requests should be directed to Roku.
No account or sign-in is required within the channel itself. See the Privacy Policy for what the channel does and does not collect.
3. Data Sources and Accuracy
Weather information is retrieved from the FAA Aviation Weather Center and NOAA's National Weather Service. Sectional chart imagery is produced by the United States Federal Aviation Administration and is in the public domain. AvLights is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the FAA, NOAA, Roku, or any government agency.
We do not control these sources and cannot guarantee that data is accurate, current, complete, or available. Displayed conditions may lag actual conditions, and the channel may show nothing at all if a source is unreachable.
4. Availability
AvLights depends on internet connectivity and on third-party services that may change or become unavailable without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation and may modify or discontinue the channel at any time.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
AvLights is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer of AvLights shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the channel — including any decision made in reliance on information it displays.
7. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of AvLights after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
